Jan founded the Jumet Charitable Foundation, along with his wife Julie, in 2005.  Jan is currently employed by Jumet Financial, an independent investment services firm he founded in 2006, and he is a registered representative with LPL Financial. Prior to founding and joining Jumet Financial, Jan served as the Chief Compliance Officer of Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo, a Boston based investment firm managing over $100 billion in assets. Before joining GMO, Jan served on the Executive Management Committee of Babson Capital Management LLC. In addition to his responsibilities in overseeing the firm's business strategy and stewardship on the Executive Committee, Jan had overall responsibility for Babson Capital's compliance program across the firm's broad array of investment disciplines covering most all investment strategies and over $110 billion in assets under management. Additionally, Jan served as the President of Babson Capital Securities Inc. a limited purpose broker/dealer. Jan joined Babson Capital from Mellon Institutional Asset Management (MIAM) in Boston where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of MIAM, as well as Chief Compliance Officer of Mellon Institutional Funds and CEO of Mellon Funds Distributor.

Jan is an alumnus of Kent State University with a B.B.A. in Finance, and Duquesne University with a M.S. in Tax and a Juris Doctor.  Jan is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bar Association.  Jan stepped down from the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board and President of the Foundation in July of 2022 to allow Curtis Pagley, a former Foundation student, to assume those roles as part of the Board's succession plan.  Jan will serve as an unpaid consultant of the Board for general guidance on board management. Jan has previously served as Chairman of the Board of Viatronix, Inc. and as a Board Member with the American Cancer Society in Western Pennsylvania.

Jan and his wife spend most of their time in Boston, MA, Darlington, PA, and Scottsdale, AZ at various times throughout the year.  In addition to his extensive work with the Jumet Charitable Foundation, Jan stays active in running, biking, and various other outdoor activities.
